Over 80 years ago, 40 acres of land was deeded to Asbury College by Dr. John Taylor with the stipulation that the land be used for a holiness campground. The primary purpose of the Avon Park Camp, then and now is to provide a winter camp meeting to offer Biblical preaching and teaching from a Wesleyan perspective, along with reporting from missionaries currently working in the field.
The Avon Park Campground has an office, a conference room, a tabernacle that seats over 600, a dining hall, a fellowship cafe and comfort stations for both men and women that include showers.
On site attractions include, easy walking and biking around the campground, 60 acre lake with dock, and pier for fishing, and a gazebo to enjoy the view. Shuffleboard, horseshoes, pickle ball court, and partake of our lending library for books and puzzles.
Avon Park Camp is located in south central Florida on Highway 27, only 90 miles from both coasts. The camp is about 90 minutes from several major airports, and 10 miles from Sebring Amtrak station.
Directly across from the Walmart, and convenient to nearby dining, shopping, golf courses, medical facilities and other Florida attractions.
Overnight facilities on the grounds include dormitories, apartments, park models, and RV sites. Call the office for reservations. 863-453-6831
